Simulator lessons at Osbaldwick
Indoor 1-2-1 coaching at Osbaldwick Sports Club — warm, dry and data-driven. Free taster lesson if you're new to golf.
On the east side of York, inside Osbaldwick Sports Club on The Leyes, Dan coaches on an indoor golf simulator — and for a certain kind of golfer it's the best lesson format there is. Every shot you hit is measured: ball speed, launch angle, spin, carry distance, club path. Nothing is opinion. You see exactly what your swing produces, and exactly what changes when Dan adjusts it.
For Osbaldwick, Tang Hall, Heworth, Murton, Dunnington and Stamford Bridge golfers, it's also simply the closest coaching there is — with free parking at the door.
What the simulator measures
“Keep your head down” never fixed anyone’s slice — seeing a six-degrees-open club face did. When the cause is measured, the fix stops being folklore.
Made for these golfers
The self-conscious starter
Nobody watching, nowhere to feel daft. Beginners relax indoors in a way the range can't always offer — and relaxed golfers learn faster.
The improver who likes proof
Change something, measure it, keep what works. The feedback loop turns practice from hopeful into scientific.
The winter golfer
October to March is when most swings quietly rust. Simulator students arrive in spring ahead of everyone they play with.

What golfers say
"Having only played for the last 6 months or so and only attempted to learn via YouTube; he is very patient with me & passionate about all things golf."
— Kieran Fussey, Google review"Dan is extremely knowledgeable and very professional… A few lessons in and I'm noticing the improvement in my game & scores already."
— John Beal, Google reviewWhere is the simulator exactly?

I've never used a simulator — does that matter?
Not at all. You hit real golf balls with your real clubs into a screen; the technology quietly measures everything. Dan handles the rest.
Is simulator coaching actually realistic?
For improving your swing it’s better than realistic — you get data no outdoor lesson can give. The feel of grass and wind still matters, which is why many students mix simulator and range sessions.
Is it good for complete beginners?
Ideal — warm, private, pressure-free, with instant feedback. See the beginner lessons page for what your first sessions cover.
Can I just practise on it between lessons?
Ask Dan when you book — he’ll point you at the best practice options for where your game is.
