Three hours on the course with Dan at your side — where scores actually change.
Here's golf's awkward secret: you can own a beautiful range swing and still shoot the same scores for years. Because scoring isn't a swing skill — it's choices, short game, routine and recovery, and none of those live on a driving range.
The playing lesson is three hours of real golf, in York, with an EGTF coach watching everything — and fixing things where they actually happen. Students regularly call it the most valuable lesson they've ever taken.
Roughly how itunfolds
1The opening holes — Dan just watches
You play your normal game while Dan builds the picture: decisions, tempo, routine, reactions. No coaching yet — diagnosis first.
2The middle — coaching in the moment
Now it starts: club choice on this tee, the smart miss on that pin, the chip you always duff played three different ways until one sticks.
3The closing stretch — your new game, tested
You put the changes into play with a bit of pressure on, while Dan builds your practice plan from everything he's seen.
You leavewith
✓A written practice plan built from your actual round, not a generic checklist
✓Two or three course-management rules worth instant shots — the free ones
✓A short-game method for the shot that scares you most
✓An honest answer to “what's really costing me?” — it's rarely what golfers think
✓Usually: the best score you've shot in a while, before the lesson's even over
One round or ablock of three
One playing lesson is an eye-opener. The block of three is a transformation: play and diagnose, practise the gaps, then play again and watch the scores move. It's the closest thing golf has to a before-and-after.

"He taught me the main fundamentals of the sport… over the course of 3 hours my technique was improved massively and I really enjoyed the experience."
— James Quinn, Google review
"If you want a golf lesson where the teacher is more interested in your golf game than anything else then please, book a lesson with him."
— Andrew White, fellow coach, Google review
What standard do I need to be?
If you can get the ball round a course — however scruffily — you're ready. The coaching adapts to the golfer, from confident beginner to single figures.
Which course do we play?
Your choice of pay-and-play around York; Dan will suggest options for your level when you book.
Do we keep score?
Loosely — enough to make decisions real, never enough to make it stressful. This is coaching, not a medal.
Are green fees included?
No — you cover green fees for your chosen course; the lesson price is the coaching.
How often should I take one?
Many students alternate: a playing lesson to find the leaks, range or simulator sessions to fix them, then back to the course to bank it.
