Junior golf lessons
Patient 1-2-1 coaching that makes golf fun — parents welcome at every session. Free taster lesson if you're new to golf.
Golf hands a young person things few sports can: a game they can play with their grandparents, a quiet lesson in honesty and patience every single round, and a skill that lasts a lifetime. What it shouldn't hand them is boredom — which is why Dan coaches juniors the way juniors actually learn.
Short explanations. Lots of hitting. Games and targets instead of lectures. Technique folded in so quietly it never feels like homework. And genuine patience — the quality Dan's adult students praise most is worth double with a nine-year-old.
For parents: you're welcome to stay and watch every session — most do. The first lesson is free, so your junior can find out if golf is their thing before you commit a penny.
How Dan coaches young golfers
Every session is built around targets and challenges. They think they’re playing; they’re learning.
Kids’ bodies change constantly. Dan coaches the swing they have today and lets it grow, rather than forcing an adult template.
Swing videos and little milestones — juniors love seeing their before-and-after as much as adults do.
From first swings to the course, and on to competitive golf if the bug bites. No pressure in either direction.

Where and when
Junior lessons run at the covered, floodlit range on the north side of York — so sessions survive British weather — and on the indoor simulator at Osbaldwick in winter, which juniors tend to think is the best video game ever invented.
Sessions fit around school: after-school slots, weekends and holidays. Ask Dan what's available when you book.

What golfers say
"He explains everything in a way that actually makes sense and tailors every lesson to you… he even sends before and after swing videos so you can actually see the improvements you're making."
— Lias Jones, Google review"Brought my game on massively in such a short time, simplifies things down so you can understand right away. Top bloke."
— Dwayne, Google reviewWhat age can my child start?
There's no strict minimum — if they can swing a junior club and enjoy ten minutes at a time, they're ready to have fun. For very young ones, have a chat with Dan first.
Do they need their own clubs?
No — junior clubs are sorted for lessons while they find out if they love it. Hold off buying until Dan can advise on sizing.
Can I stay and watch?
Always. Parents are welcome at every session — most stay, especially early on.
My teenager is sporty and competitive — can Dan stretch them?
Yes — the coaching scales from first swings to competitive junior golf, including course work through playing lessons when they're ready.
Is winter a bad time to start?
It's arguably the best — the simulator keeps sessions warm and fun, and they arrive at spring ahead of their mates.
Give them a game for life.
Junior first lessons are free — book with a call or WhatsApp.
